Our services

For the implementation of different projects, we do not only use our workshop in Delfzijl, but we also visit our customers.

We can bring our own equipment such as mobile blasting containers, compressors and spraying installations when visiting the customer, to work on parts on-site.

When carrying our tasks on location, we comply with the applicable environmental and safety regulations. For risky tasks, a risk inventory is drawn up and in addition we work with SCC certified personnel.
We are used to carrying out most of our activities in accordance with customer specifications. This means that the customer determines under which conditions the blasting and conservation should be performed. Some examples being specifications under ISO12944, NORSOK M 501, or customer-specific specifications. We hold a declaration of conformity, EN 1090, allowing us to also treat load-bearing constructions.

Thermal Spray Aluminium/Thermal Spray Zinc, also called metal-spraying or flame-spraying, are treatments for steel, where liquid aluminium of zinc is sprayed onto the object to, as such, apply a conservation layer.

The feature of the cathodic functioning of zinc and aluminium is that it ‘surrenders’ to the iron, which, as a result, will not corrode.

TSZ serves as a proper protective layer after blasting, and has excellent properties to be painted over afterwards. It is widely used for, for instance, garden gates, chassis, trailer parts and stairs. TSA is often used for the offshore industry because of its excellent properties and long life span.
We have different blasting and coating cabins for the different activities.

They vary from 10 x 2.5 x 3 metres (LxWxH), our smallest cabin, to our large cabin, able to treat parts measuring 50 x 14 x 8.5 metres (LxWxH). Our cranes can lifts weights, altogether, up to 40 tonnes.

In our blasting cabins, we can use different materials for blasting, such as pig iron, brown fused alumina or glass bead.
From 2017 we are also capable of applying powder coating. This electrostatic spraying process ensures a fine, impact-resistant finishing coat. As a pre-treatment, all parts are blasted to ensure good adhesion.

We can powder coat both small parts, such as rims, moped frames or garden gates and larger parts, up to a maximum of 3 x 3.5 x 7 metres (L x B x H).

For protection against corrosion,  Blasting company Koop can apply different types of coating. Due to the great diversity of utilised coating systems, we can compile a suitable coating advice for any application, from the petrochemical industry up to the food industry. This is done per specification or in consultation with the customer.

A few examples of the possibilities: epoxy coatings, refractory coatings or coatings with high chemical resistance. We can apply the basic layer (primer) as well as the intermediate coat and the coating in any desired (RAL) colour. It is also possible to have a colour created.

Apart from conventional varnishes, we can also apply ceramic varnishes (concerning possible hardness criteria). Blasting and Coating company Koop  can issue a coating report or warranty certificate for the work performed.

The dimensions of our spray booth: (LxWxH): 50 m x 14 m x 8.5 m. We can also carry out blasting on-site.


Blasting and Coating company Koop  can apply a preservation coating to surfaces by means of flame-galvanising or metal-spraying. But also TSA (aluminising) is possible. When applying these methods, a zinc or aluminium wire is melted in a flame. The consequential liquid metal is deposited on the surface to be treated and attached to it. The zinc or aluminium oxide film is less noble than metal and, as such, provides cathodic protection, which means that the sprayed layer gradually ‘surrenders’ and serves to protect the construction. It is therefore a particularly effective way to combat rust.

In any case, flame-galvanising/metal-spraying can only be applied to perfectly blank material. Therefore, it had best be done immediately after blasting.

Powder coating

Powder coating is an organic top layer, applied by means of electrostatic spraying. The powder is baked in an oven and will flow out to a solid coating. This can be applied in several layers.

Powder coating is widely used for, for example:

– Rims
– Fences
– Plateaus
– Stairs
– Engine frames

Powder coating is eco-friendly because, during the application, no volatile organic vapours are released whereas the benefit is that after muffling it can instantly cool off and be used.
